| Day 2 | Sunday | Walk 1 | Conimbriga. 12km to the north-west of Penela, this walk encompasses the large historic Roman site of Conimbriga, (where you will be given time to relax and explore). Divided by an old Roman road, it is the largest and best preserved archaeological site in Portugal. - 10km |
| Day 3 | Monday | Walk 2 | Schist Village. This walk starts in the Schist village of Ferraria De S. Joao. After walking around the village we enter the surrounding countryside in mixed woodlands. The walk will climax with some stunning views of the surrounding hills. - 10 km |
| Day 4 | Tuesday | Walk 3 | Coimbra. This walk takes us down beside the River Mondego and into a natural park and then into the vibrant and beautiful city of Coimbra, where again you will be given time to explore. Steeped in history and cultural centre of Portugal, it has one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. - 8km |

| Day 6 | Thursday | Walk 4 | Rabacal Valley. This very pretty, and our longest walk, culminates at a cafe in the small and picturesque village of Rabacal. Nestled amongst walnut and olive groves this tranquil village produces one of Portugal's most famous cheeses; a mixture of sheep and goats milk. - 16km |
| Day 7 | Friday | Walk 5 | Mystery walk! |
| Day 8 | Saturday | Departure (adeus) |
** Information will be provided to accompany the visit to Figueira da Foz, where you will be unguided,
although we (and our vehicles!)

Often referred to as the the 'Green Heart' of Portugal, the region of Central Portugal has some of the most beautiful and diverse countryside to offer. It varies from fantastic mountain ranges, lush green valleys, rivers, gorgeous sandy beaches, pine forests and centuries old deciduous forests of oak, chestnut, birch and maple.
Attractive natural pools can be found in many areas (such as Loucainha) and are frequently used by the local people during the summer months.
